The Future of Supernova Women: 2021 and Beyond

Advocacy

In 2021, Supernova Women is releasing the results of the first annual, "Supernova Women Equity Assessment Report," a new method to identify and address inequitable policies, practices, and procedures, in city and state cannabis social equity programs.

The primary goal of this assessment is to develop a baseline for measurement of individual state programs in the interest of understanding of equity, and how policies, procedures, and practices can support equity or amplify inequities. By establishing this baseline, city and state regulators can monitor progress over time and work with advocates and community organizations to create and support equitable policies, practices and procedures, and outcomes.

Education and Training

Supernova launched the country's first cannabis social equity workforce development program in partnership with the City of Oakland in November of 2020 at EquityWorks! Incubator Training Center.
